Summer 2025: Volume 20

Index:

If anyone wants to send in some short, clean writing with a clear call to action or motif, or art you’d like to share with attribution, please send to eastrockgazette@gmail.com.

Editor’s Note (Vol. XX):

Volume XXI: Heat moves in, and scorches any late rain. The chill at night has passed and the longest days have been had, but the good times, and bad, are still ahead. Just as hourglasses judge, openly and fair; sand on the beach trickles through a child’s fat fingers and old scorned beggar’s shaking fist, all the same. No matter where you go or what you do, listen for the ringing bell of your heartbeat! Anchor to the moment and seek out
the novel, with friends and loved ones, old and new. Yet, do prepare yourself. Financially and tactically, because yesterday’s paper hints next week’s sorrows. Listen before you speak, and question what you hear. Don’t rest on your laurels, familiar patterns or vice. Embrace the challenges when things get hard, but do not be afraid to ask for help. Help when and where you can, laugh when something’s funny and take ownership for what is right and true. Challenge answers freely given, keep busy, look for opportunity and stay safe!

NOTICE:
I’m going to take a publishing break for the Summer. I’m taking the time to travel, read, write and experience life while my watch still keeps time. I’ll have the next edition out around Labor Day. I’ll try my best to share events happening in on IG@EastRockGazette. Plz reach out with anything you’d like shared and I’ll do my best to pass along + promote, peace depending. I’ll continue to post stories and content online (EastRockGazette.com) so please check in! Expect some more artwork and short essays/research pieces. Maybe a special edition newsletter or two as well? Leave your email on the homepage to stay in the loop! — JB
