Sat. 2/22-Sun. 2/23: Hop Into Spring: Lindy Hop + Balbao Workshop with Jen Barnett & Dominic Hanna, by Yale Swing Blues & Fusion. A two-day swing workshop on Lindy Hop and Balbao, two swing dance styles originating in the 20th century, largely by Black dancers). Costs range from $30 for one day to $130 for the full weekend, depending on beginner/non-beginner and student/non-student. Jan. 19-Feb. 23: “Through A Glass Darkly“, a social exhibition by Peter Brown, curated by David Borawski at the Ely Center of Contemporary Art (ECOCA). (51 Trumbull St., Sundays, Wednesdays, Thursdays, 12-5pm)
Open Call: The New Haven Paint & Clay Club is seeking submissions (between 1/19-2/15) for its 124th Juried Exhibit. The exhibit will be held March 31 through April 26, 2025. Stephanie M. Heydt, of the New Britain Museum of American Art, will act as juror, with the reception taking place Sunday, April 6 from 1-3pm. $4000 in prizes! ($30 entry fee for members, $45 for others)
